Notes

• The DNS changes will take a few hours (up to 24 hours) to propagate throughout the Internet.
• The SSH host key of the new server has been changed. Please note that you will see warnings or errors when you first log the server by a sftp client after migration.
• If you are using the OpenSSH commands (scp, sftp) on Linux or macOS, please delete the line that begins with "user.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp" in "~/.ssh/known_hosts". The fingerprint of the new server's host key is as below.

 ECDSA key fingerprint is SHA256:/DtULLWO8s5niWvvHuqw6XILELcv31HXqEv1wVtjxjY.

Overview

A system update for the user web page publication WWW server will be performed on Monday, March 27 during the following time periods. Some services will be affected during the update. We apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause, and thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Date and Time

Monday, March 27, 2017 from 9:00 to 12:00

Services Affected

While work is carried out on the update, access to the web pages made by the users under "http://user.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp" will be inaccessible. File transfers using scp and sftp, and the application for WWW publication (stop publication/reopen publication) in the secure WWW server will also become unavailable.

We will restart these service as soon as the update work is done. However, you may not be able to access them immediately as DNS information propagation update may be delayed due to the change of IP address.

Note

Html files should be displayed as same as before because files are copied from the old system. However, as the OS will be upgraded, there will be a version change in the commands prepared to use CGI.

• /usr/bin/perl version will be changed from 5.8.8 to 5.16
• /bin/sh (bash) version will be changed from 3.2 to 4.2
• /usr/bin/nkf version will be changed from 2.0.7 to 2.0.8

If any issues arise form there changes, we ask you to kindly please resolve them by yourself after the upgrade has been completed.
