(Japanese version: http://www.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/announcement/2010/03/leave.html)

The Education Campuswide Computing System (ECCS) is established operated for to provide on-campus service at the University of Tokyo. For this purpose, your eligibility to use the System will be lost upon your graduation, transfer to an institution outside of the university or any other reason removing your eligibility.

Although your ECCS account is not immediately erased deleted on April 1, 2010, it will be inactivated a while after April 1.

Regarding e-mail, however, mail transfer to an off-campus account is available for six months up to around September 30, 2010 only if you have set up or arranged the transfer while your ECCS account is still active. With this pre-arrangementsetup, you may be able to read the e-mail addressed to your e-mail account of User Name@mail.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp through the server for a different e-mail address, designated by you, for the fixed period of time as above.

In order to set up the e-mail transfer, please visit the secure WWW server at https://secure.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ and select the “メール転送設定(E-mail Transfer Set Up)”. Or you could arrange the transfer at https://ms.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ as well.

Please understand that if you have not set up the e-mail transfer has not been arranged, mail sent to your e-mail account of @mail.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp arrives as addressed but may be no longer accessible for you to read it.

Please note that transfer setting or any change of your ECCS e-mail account is not available once your ECCS account has been eraseddeleted.

Please also note that various application procedures usually become unavailable for you in and after April. Unless you knoware certainly aware of your current password at the end of March, you may no longer be able to use your ECCS e-mail account in and after April even though your ECCS account still remains active for a short time after the end of the current academic year.

If you do not want your webpage open to the public in and after April, we recommend you to proceed with the “公開中断(Stop Publication)” at https://secure.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/web.html before the current academic year ends.
