[Terminal] Use of USB ports on the both sides of the keyboards are no longer permitted (updated on April, 2016)

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Updated: August 23, 2016
May 30, 2016

There have been a number of cases being reported of genuine Apple Lightning cables becoming stuck in genuine Apple Keyboard that are used with the ECCS 2016 terminals.

As from this date, do not use the USB ports on the both sides of the keyboard. ITC will seal them at a later date.

Also, it has been reported that some users have not been able to pull out their Apple Lightning cables from the other USB port on the ECCS terminals. Please avoid using genuine Apple cables, and use other manufacturer's lighting cables instead.

In the event you have used a genuine Apple Lightning cable and cannot pull it out from the USB port, please contact the ECCS system assistant or come to the Help Desk, or send an email to ecc-support [at] ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp. The supplier of the terminals will take care of those cables.

(※) Apple Inc. has informed us that there is no way to deal with this problem. Therefore please be aware that it may not be possible to return the Apple Lightning cable undamaged.

We would like to apologize to ECCS users for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
