New Function of "Country Authentication Restriction" for the New MailSuite

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Updated: April 19, 2017
August 23, 2016

The operation of the new MailSuite started on August 18, 2016.

As we announced on the website (ECCSMailHosting-currently available only in Japanese), a new function "Country authentication restriction" has been added to the new email system.

In a default setting, access to the email system using mailers (SMTP, POP, IMAP) is only authorized from within Japan. However, access using web mail (HTTPS) is permitted from any country.

How to change the setting

Please log in to the web mail first, and follow the next steps to change the setting.

Go to "Preferences">" Customize My Preferences">"Country authentication restriction" then tick the country you would like to authorize

Please also refer to the online help after logging on to MailSuite.

Important notice

If you are importing the email account of the ECCS or the MailHosting by using Gmail, you may not be able to receive the emails without changing the permission setting even if you are in Japan. Please tick "United States" in the Country authentication restriction.
