As of March 1, 2021. It has been confirmed that changes made to settings of the Mac OS (such as Dock additions, settings of each applications, etc.) are not saved when restarting the terminal.
This issue occurs due to Mac OS failure where it failed to rewrite files in the plist format under ~/Library/Preferences/ when the home directory is on the network. For the time being, please set each setting every time when you log in. There is a way to edit plist files directly using plutil command. However, only attempt this after you have carefully look it up and are certain of what you are doing.
