[Important]Your ECCS account will be automatically renewed from the start of the 2019 academic year. Please submit an application to discontinue using your ECCS account only if you no longer wish to use it.



This notification is for academic and administrative staff using the ECCS with their UTokyo Account (username is the 10-digit number of the common ID).

For academic and administrative staff using the ECCS Limited Accounts --- ECCS Limited Accounts was terminated at the end of the 2018 academic year

Academic and administrative staff who currently use the ECCS Limited Accounts cannot apply for renewal. Please refer to the following web page for more details.

Procedure for the continued use of ECCS --- to be automatically renewed from February, 2019

Academic and administrative staff who already have an ECCS account during the current academic year, and will remain at the university for the following academic year can continue to use ECCS as long as no other procedure is carried (Automatic renewal). The procedure to discontinue using an ECCS account is required only if you no longer wish to continue using ECCS. Please refer to the "Deleting your ECCS account " below for more details on the procedure.
The change in the procedure to the automatic renewal was approved by the 60th Information Media Education Committee (dated on July 2, 2018).

Email regarding the procedure for continued use

The ITC will send an email regarding the "Procedure for continued use of ECCS (Automatic renewal)" for the following academic year in mid-February to users' ECCS email addresses (ECCS Staff Email, ECCS Cloud Email) and email addresses registered to MyWeb.

Please contact the person in charge of ECCS (extension#23004) if you do not receive the email by the end of February.

Important Notices

1. Deleting your ECCS account (if you no longer wish to use ECCS)

If you no longer wish to use ECCS due to resignation or retirement at the end of the current academic year or do not plan to use ECCS from April of the following academic year, please be sure to submit an “Application for the Deletion of ECCS Account" from the “UTokyo Account Application Menu”.
If you fail to submit this application, you will be considered to take the automatic renewal. Please refer to the procedure to discontinue using ECCS account for further details.
Your ECCS Account is linked with your UTokyo Account. Therefore, if your UTokyo Account becomes invalid due to retirement, etc., your ECCS account will automatically be deleted regardless of whether or not the application for the Deletion of ECCS Account has been submitted.

Please note that you will not be able to access all ECCS services that require ID/password from the date specified in the "Application for the Deletion of ECCS Account" submitted online. Therefore, make sure to take necessary measures such as backing up files, etc. by the time of termination. Please refer to the following web page for details.

2. How to check your ECCS expiration date

If you would like to check your current "Expiration Date for ECCS", please log in to the UTokyo Account User Menu and go to the "ECCS Account Information".
"UTokyo Account User Menu" is accessible only from the Japanese network.

3. Special case for new users who applied to use of ECCS after February in the current academic year

New users who applied for the use of ECCS between February 1 and March 31 in the current academic year can continue using ECCS services in the following academic year. If you wish to discontinue using the ECCS at the end of March in the current academic year, you must complete the procedure to discontinue using your ECCS account. Please refer to "2. Deleting your ECCS account (if you no longer wish to use ECCS)" above for details on the procedure.
